Intraclade relationships

From Post-Self

Intraclade relationships are romantic relationships between two or more cocladists. Until about 226, they were considered taboo by the society aboard the three Systems. This was a deliberate move undertaken by True Name and the Jonas clade in order to provide a situation that was less than ideal in order to give a generally queer-normative society something to strive to improve.[1] The reasoning that was provided was that it was narcissistic or masturbatory. Part of the reason for this taboo, it later turned out, was to provide Jonas material with which to blackmail True Name, given the relationship he engineered between her and Zacharias.

This extended in some senses to family dynamics within a clade. It affected the way that Motes interacted with both A Finger Pointing and Beholden as parental figures.
