Navigating the MUCK environment can seem a little daunting, especially if you are not already familiar with its layout and how to find what you are looking for.

Searching

First, you'll need to understand where you are in the world, and where everyone else is!

Look

You can see the name, contents, and description of the location you are in, as well as find the list of visible exits by writing look here.

Old Town provides a bucolic view of a small town main street. The ground is   
paved in a herringbone pattern of red-purple bricks, and the buildings that   
line it are of a comfortable brick-and-concrete aesthetic that invites one to 
explore the shops within.                                                     
                                                                              
The square itself sits at the midpoint of a pedestrian mall, a wide spot      
carved out into an octagonal space. At the center stands a small fountain set 
into a shallow bowl taking up the majority of the space, the edges of which   
are lined with concrete benches, all facing a permanent bandstand. When the   
fountain is running, the water drains away into narrow channels that sink down
into the base of the bandstand, a perennial attraction for floating origami   
boats and rubber ducks during the warmer summer months.                       
                                                                              
Around the rim of this depression, several low tables are on offer, each      
surrounded by furniture of various sorts, from steel chairs to wooden benches 
to chaise lounges with indoor/outdoor cushions of such squishiness that one is
all but invited to nap. Beyond these, beyond the pathways left for foot       
traffic, shops of all sorts fill the stone buildings. There, a shop sells     
silver rings, silver pendants, silver bangles. And there, beside it, a curio  
shop selling impossible shapes. The road leads further down, enticing you with
several more shops to come.

wWho lists online players and their location in the MUCK. Although this only gives you a vague idea of where to find someone, it does make it easier to notice when folks are gathered in one spot, and where to look for the party.

Sims

sims

sims lists all of the global exits accessible to your character.

To use an exit, simply write its name. Most exits will have an underline highlighting an abbreviated name you can use as well.

Canvas hangs overhead from the rooftops of nearby buildings, blocking out the 
worst of Sun and precipitation alike without blotting them out entirely.      
Shops, restaurants, and other services line either side of the street, and a  
bus stops at the end of the road from time to time.

Most areas should also have an exit leading O̲ut to the metaphorical street and B̲ack to the focal point of the sim. Often this is the same exit, and sometimes it is named something else; the name you see is only one of several commands related to an exit.

home

Every character and every object is @linked to something else, usually a room. This is call its home, which characters can teleport to at any time with home.

By default, characters are @linked to the starter sim, which should suffice until you decide you want to get into building on the MUCK.

Joining

join <target> or call <target>

The join command sends a request to another character asking to be brought to them.

If you receive such a request, you will be notified and shown the text with which to accept it.
