Bubbling Up

As originally conceived, bubbling up referred to this process:

The up-tree instance quits, merging down.
The remaining down-tree forks to replace the up-tree's position in the sim.
The down-tree quits, leaving the freshly-forked up-tree to carry on.

Bubbling up is reciprocal to merging down, allowing a down-tree to merge up as if they were the ephemeral instance. Fireheart& (talk) 15:28, 8 February 2024 (UTC)
