A good many of the characters are skunks that bear a lot of visual similarities, being descended from one person.

The narrator (and arguably one of the main characters), Rye, is fairly typical among them, as is No Hesitation and sometimes End Of Endings.

Here are some ideas from the authors. I am thinking paintings of some sort perhaps on wood. Pick one or two (front/wrap-around or front and back).

Here are some ideas for the interior illustrations. These would be black and white doodles, so probably line art of some sort.
