Tomash is both a Post-Self author and a systech within the universe.

He uses he/him pronouns.

Work

I'm a contributor to Marsh (where I wrote the short story "Sentences") and to Idumea, where I wrote the sections featuring The Dog and The Rabbit-Chaser.

I've also written various short-form pieces. Many of those can be found on Archive of Our Own (AO3) or on my Dreamwidth.

I use he/him pronouns.

In-universe

Tomash is an anthropomorphic dog and a perisystem technician. He often works with the System Emergency Response Group to help people out, especially in cases where the mechanics and physics of the System have gotten them (or someone else) into a pickle they can't get themselves out of.

He has, after much practice, forked off a sub-clade, the Scouts. These are non-anthropomorphic dogs who settle around the System and keep an eye on things, while mainly just being dogs.

He appears in "Coffee Leak", where he helps someone new to the System who just wanted to reheat their coffee, in "Abandoned Highway" where he has a road to straighten out, and in "Hunting Dogs" where he sends someone on a quest.

He, through asking the Scouts fork back into versions of himself, appears in "Arise to Oath and Office", which was used as promotional material for Marsh.

Tomash's upload date is unspecified, but he was sworn in as a systech at some point between 66 and 135.

Aside from systech work, Tomash has been known to enjoy games (including puzzles and factory-making sims), role-playing, and reading ... and walks, of course.

Tomash sent a fork to Castor and Pollux while remaining on Lagrange.

Availability

If you'd like to write your own story where Tomash (the character) appears, please run it past Tomash (the author) before widely disseminating it so he can give it a once-over.

Systech oath

(Since it seemed worth recording)

I, Tomash of my own clade, for myself and any future up-tree instances who maintain my rights, do swear before you to faithfully serve this System as a perisystem technician. I shall execute the duties of that office to the best of my ability. I shall use my technician's rights, powers, and authorities only for the good of the System and its people, forsaking private gain and partiality. I shall, to the extent I reasonably can, defend the functionality of the System against all defects and threats, both internal and external. I shall similarly endeavor to protect and preserve the individual freedoms granted to all people upon the System, and to use my office to render aid to those people as needed.

And should I forsake this oath and pervert my office, let me suffer what consequences the System and its people deem appropriate.
